Neglect of a leaking chain plate resulted in this Bulkhead Replacement project.  The port side aft locker bulkhead had been painted over by a previous owner so the paint prevented me from noticing the rot that had been going on underneath.
This repair took about 24 manhours to complete and resulted in a   much stronger bond to the fiberglass and a stiffer bulkhead.

If you recall from the photograph on the previous page there were not many indications of a problem by looking at the bulkhead.  This photo shows the removal of the rotted wood using only my hands so it is very important to look very closely at all aspects of  your boat before assuming everything is ok.
